Hotels & Hostels on Big Corn

Before you book, it can be a good idea to contact the hotel to check if they have generators and if they are working. Power outages are not unusual on Big Corn Island. If applicable, also check if the generators will actually be used to keep the AC on in your room, or if the AC is turned off to save energy during power outages.

Here are a few examples of hotels and hostels on Big Corn

  • Located on the southwestern end of the island, at Playa Picnic Center.

Bellavista

  • Located by Shipwreck Beach in Brigg Bay
  • Distance to beach circa 10 meters

  • 1 private house called Seaview Suite, room for four guests
  • All rooms have air-conditioning
  • Restaurant is for hotel guests only
  • Wireless internet (that actually reaches the beach)

Cabanas Viento del Norte

  • Located at North End, roughly 1 miles north-east of the dock, and approximately 50 feet from the sea.
  • Small hotel with 8 rooms
  • Accommodation options range from cheap dorm style to a fancy room with ocean view, air-conditioning, fridge and microwave.
  • Wireless internet
  • Accepts credit cards, but sometimes impose a credit card fee.
  • Free pickup and dropoff at airport or port.

  • A 5 minute walk from Parque Municipal Rodrigo Campbell
  • By Corn Island standards, this is an upscale hotel
  • Located on a cliff which gives you a pretty view of the Caribbean Sea, but walking to the beach will take 5-10 minutes
  • Cabana-style rooms with private terraces with sea view.
  • Rooms have air conditioning, private bathroom, TV, DVD player, minifridge
  • Wireless internet
  • Breakfast is included
  • Restaurant
  • Bar with covered terrace and seafront deck
  • Infinity pool with bar service
  • Indoor pool

Casa Canada is as far as we know no longer looking for investors that are welcomed to buy one (or several) of the cabins in the hotel. However it might still be possible to buy a room from an earlier investor. Anyone owning a room g will earn money from when that cabin is rented after management fees are deducted.  Check their website for more information.  Always make sure that you understand all aspects of an investment before you invest money.

Fishers Cave

  • Located by the wharf where the boats arrive from the mainland
  • Rooms have air conditioning and hot water showers
  • Some of the rooms have a view of the outdoor aquarium

  • Located at Reggae Place in Brigg Bay (this is the “downtown” of Corn Island)

  • Very lively, suitable if you don’t mind a party

Morgan’s Place

  • Located on a point in North End.
  • The paved road separates the hotel from the beach.
  • Rooms have private bathroom, air conditioning / fan, cable-TV
  • Upstairs rooms have balconies

  • The hotel is not located on the beach but near the beach; the paved main road runs between the beach and the hotel property.

  • Wireless internet

South End Sunrise Hotel

Clean and big rooms. Not cheap by Big Corn standards, but not in the upper range either.
